Coach Brian Orndorff, the current AAU Oklahoma Wrestling Director, and Coaches Marcio White and David Cairns, the current AAU Oklahoma Wrestling Coaches, were awarded the privilege of taking a small Team Oklahoma AAU to the AAU Grand Nationals in Santa Fe, New Mexico from July 12 to July 17, 2005.  The team of competitors consisted of Bluejay Pride's Brian Orndorff, David Cairns, Chris Shea, Cole Orndorff, Braden Crawford, Zane Winkelman, and Shortie Stewart.  In addition, the team consisted of Henry Martinez (Oklahoma University), Richard Lopez (Edmond), and Austen and Caleb Phillips (Sapulpa).  The Team as a whole fared extremely well, with every wrestler on the team placing at the national level in at least one discipline of wrestling.

The team fared well, earning 3 team awards and 24 individual awards. Greco-Roman: 2 Champions & 6 placers Freestyle: 2 Champions & 5 Placers Collegiate/Folkstyle: 2 Champions & 7 placers

The 4 High School aged athletes made a strong showing of upper body strength with their crowd-pleasing throws. Upcoming Senior Chris Shea and upcoming sophomore Cole Orndorff earned 4 medals between them. Sapulpas Austen Phillips and Edmonds Richard Lopez earned 6 medals between them.

Coaches Brian Orndorff and David Cairns teamed up with Oklahoma University wrestler henry Martinez to clench the 2nd place team award in all 3 disciplines of wrestling.
